Interested in JVS for Your State or Local Area?A job vacancy survey is, of necessity, a collaborative project between State LMI Offices, job vacancy statistics customers and firms selected to provide data for the survey. State LMI Offices have the expertise and confidential employer data required to draw the sample, conduct the survey and analyze survey results. Customers have a need for the information, specific requirements and funding. Firms have the data on their vacancies. These three players must be at the table to produce informative, reliable and timely job vacancy statistics. Only a few states currently conduct a job vacancy survey. If you are a potential customer, we encourage you to contact your State Labor Market Information Director to begin this collaborative process. You should discuss whether the survey will satisfy your organization’s needs, come up with a list of other potential customers and determine the cost of conducting the survey. Download Letter to
State LMI Directors from the Workforce Investment Council The Job Vacancy Survey is not a Federal/State program. It is a resource for Workforce Investment Boards, economic and workforce developers, jobseekers and the employment and training community. It is not a Department of Labor requirement and is not funded by the DOL.
